UPDATE: May 2024
Becoming Mom Spa is no longer in business, and Nurture handles all clients.
I’ll visit Becoming Mom Pregnancy Spa, Imaging Center & Boutique throughout my pregnancy and review their services. My first visit was yesterday, and we heard the baby’s heartbeat!
We had originally set up an appointment on Wednesday. We used a baby Doppler, but Dawn, the owner, could not locate the baby’s heartbeat because the baby was so tiny. She asked if I could come back on Thursday when the Ultrasound tech would be there, and that’s what we did!
On Thursday evening, we arrived and were pleased to see my Mother, her boyfriend Kenn, and his daughter Annie awaiting our arrival. Annie wanted to see what the baby looked like at this point and how the ultrasound was done, so the tech-led us all back to the ultrasound room.
Once in the room, I lay on the table {Mini-Me sat beside me in the chair, anxiously awaiting to see her sibling!}, the tech gave the Hubs the duty of recording the baby’s heartbeat once she {sorry, pregnancy brain got the best of me, I don’t remember her name – sorry!} got a nice strong sound. It was a little emotional for me as I saw Mini Me’s face light up as she looked at her baby brother/sister on the large monitor hanging on the wall. She instantly got excited and started pointing! That was the best experience so far in this pregnancy! Before the heartbeat was recorded, the tech took two pictures of the baby and pointed out the head, arms, and legs {I think we gotta boxer on our hands!}.
The tech got the heartbeat on the monitor, and we were so glad to hear it! Jason, my Hubby, recorded about 10 seconds of the heartbeat, and tada! We had our recording. Mini-Me got to pick the bear that she wanted {this was her special surprise!}. We took the bear to Marne {the official bear stuffer!!!!} and were on our way!
The Heartbeat Teddy Bear would make a great gift for Big Brother or Sister. If we could’ve kept our mouths shut {if you know me, you know that’s not possible!} for 10 weeks, this would also be a great way to tell friends and family, “I’m Pregnant!”. The Heartbeat Teddy Bear is priced at $39.99 with an ultrasound or $49.99 without an ultrasound.
Everyone I have met at Becoming Mom Pregnancy Spa has been very pleasant and delightful. Once I walk through the doors, there is a sense of peace. I’m not sure if it’s because of its calm, relaxing atmosphere or what, but I can’t wait to go back!
Have you been to Becoming Mom? If you are pregnant or know someone who is, I strongly suggest checking out some of their services. It’s a great way for the family to connect with the baby. Many services will help Mom relax and get pampered before (and after) baby!
We will be going back in May to find out the baby’s sex. I’m sure we’ll have an audience, and I can’t wait to share that experience with you!
