Just a Mess by Mercer Mayer
What kid hasn’t wanted to play with a toy? Only when I go search for it does an obstacle pop up that needs to be completed first! I feel like every day, I walk to the laundry room to start a load only to see mud on the floor. Then I get the vacuum, but all the winter hats and gloves have been pulled out of the drawers in the closet, which need to be put away first, but then army men are hiding from the bad guys in the drawers, so they need a new hideout, and it just goes on and on. It’s funny because it’s true! There is also a mini-game within the story where you must find all the spiders. This is a cute story!
The Just a Mess App is designed for both iPhone and iPad and runs .99.

With the app, there are three ways that you can enjoy this book:
- ”Read to Me” — listen to the narrated story with words highlighted as they are read
- ”Read it Myself” — read the book in its traditional form
- “Auto Play” plays like a movie, automatically reading and turning pages. It’s great for younger children!
