Laughing Giraffe Books offers book gift sets and books of month subscriptions. One thing that I particularly like about the book of the month club is that there is no commitment. Once you receive the book club you choose, you can pick another one if you want…or not. You do not have to pay for several months at a time. The collections are broken down into several categories to choose from: ages, occasion, format or price, making it very easy to find what you need.
I received the Fa, La, La, La, La! Basic Book Set. The books in the set included: The Polar Express by Chris Van Allsburg (Hardcover with bonus CD) • The Night Before Christmas illustrated by Jan Brett (Hardcover) • Christmas Tapestry by Patricia Polacco (Paperback) • Snowmen at Christmas by Caralyn Buehner (Hardcover). All of them were individually wrapped in Laughing Giraffe’s signature wrapping paper, green with white polka dots.
I love Jan Brett and her wonderful illustrations in The Night Before Christmas. We have seen the Polar Express movie but have not read the book. Not only did we read it but we were able to listen to the story be read aloud with the included CD. FYI – It is read by Liam Neeson, I love his accent. My son really liked the Snowmen at Christmas, how the snowman come to life at night. The only one we have never read before was the Christmas Tapestry. This story is all about when: “A leak ruins the sacristy wall in his father’s church, Jonathan Jefferson Weeks thinks Christmas Eve service will be ruined. Luckily he and his father find a beautiful tapestry, perfect for covering the damaged wall and giving the church a festive look! But then, an old Jewish woman recognizes the beautiful cloth. Her discovery leads to a real miracle on Christmas Eve.”
Laughing Giraffe also offers other holidays like the Hanukkah, Oh Hanukkah Collection, a perfect mix of history, whimsy, fact, and fiction!
