Fundex Games Review {What’s in Ned’s Head, Gassy Gus, Pinkalicious & Wimpy Kid Scrabble}

We received our Diary of a Wimpy Kid Edition of Scrabble yesterday. I can’t thank you enough for this great giveaway. My son was so excited. When he opened the package, he ran into his room and brought out his collection of “Wimpy Kid” books to show me how perfect this game is for him.He and I had a little tournament last night that I think will turn into a weekly tradition. I am known as the “Scrabble Champion” around here and haven’t been able to find anyone willing to play with me for a very long time. Guess what – he beat me! Fair and square, too. There is a variation of the rules to include some of the special, made-up words from the books and he was able to use many of them to boost his score. You should have seen the pride he had the rest of the night and all day today! It was great seeing him like that because he’s been having a lot of trouble with self-esteem lately. He’s in middle school and a year younger than his classmates due to being advanced a grade.We were also able to do a lot of talking that usually gets put off. I have a two-year-old, too, and that little guy takes up the majority of my attention. That leaves little time for me to spend one-on-one with my older son. I guess I didn’t fully realize until last night just how much attention he needs that I wasn’t giving him. Yep -we’re making this a weekly thing – just the two of us – from now on. Things are just going to get tougher for him and I need to keep those lines of communication open!

I was lucky enough to receive several games from Fundex Games over the holidays to test out. Each one of these games is geared towards my 3 boys. The game that all three of them seemed to get the most kick out of, when they all played together, was What’s in Ned’s Head. I know that it is geared for little ones but I guess the idea of feeling around for fake vomit or a rat appeals to boys of all ages! My three year old loved playing this and was “surprised” every time he stuck his hand in Ned’s Head to pull out a surprise. This game comes with extra cards so you can add your own items to play with. I added several of his favorite little toys to see if he could find them.

Now my seven-year-old is well seven! He found Gassy Gus to be hysterical especially when Gus was umm..gassy! I liked to play the Wimpy Kid Scrabble with my 11-year-old.

And Mini Me received the Pinkalicious Lunchbox Game. In Marci’s words: The moment we opened Pinkalicious Mini Me was so excited and so was I. Being that I am a bingo fanatic, this game is perfect for a 3-year-old! Let me tell ya, this game is very convenient. We’ve played the Pinkalicious game on the coffee table, kitchen table and even played when we were sick. I love the fact that the Pinkalicious game comes in its own metal container. It has allowed us to take this to friends and families homes and enjoy the game their as well. It’s also great for keeping kids entertained for a little while!

What's in Ned's HeadWhat’s in Ned’s Head: This game has been presented with several awards this year, making it a must-have. What’s in Ned’s Head? Who knows? His lost lunch (fake vomit)? Moldy cheese? A rat? Reach into Ned’s nostrils or ears and race to find the silly object pictured on your card.

Gassy GusGassy Gus: Players use cards to feed Gus all sorts of gaseous foods – from broccoli to baked beans. With each tasty dish, players must pump up Gus and watch his belly grow bigger and bigger. Watch out for the big blast of gas! You never know when Gus will have a blow-out and give you a stinky penalty. Be the first to feed Gus all your food and win!

Diary of a Wimpy Kid Scrabble

Diary of a Wimpy Kid Scrabble: The Diary of a Wimpy Kid edition of Scrabble includes 50 exclusive bonus words, new Wimpy Kid rules, and a specially designed game board that features Greg and the gang, even Fregley and those pesky whirley street kids.

  7. Oh, I really want to win that Diary of a Wimpy Kid Scrabble game! I love Scrabble but no one will play with me ;( BUT, my tween love Diary of a Wimpy kid, so I just know he’d play with me!!! Another game that looks pretty cool is the Hot Wheels Dominos. My toddler is getting pretty good at matching and loves his Hot Wheels. It looks like a good first step toward “real” dominos.

  32. So many great choices! My husband would want to play Gassy Gus. My youngest would want the Pinkalicous. My oldest would want the Whimpy Kid Scrabble. I would want the traditional Scrabble.

  33. I have a 5 year old boy, and I have been looking at “whatis in ned’s head” for a while… when I went to the Fundex website, I saw the “Inch Worms” game, which would let my kid play with worms while measuring and counting, which he loves to do!

  36. I think the Mexican Train Dominoes in a Tin looks like fun! Lot’s of great games!!
