Happy National Doughnut Day! Celebrate with your favorite doughnut because you know, the calories don’t count today! 🍩
Doughnut Day has been celebrated the first Friday of every June since 1917. That was when female Salvation Army volunteers known as “Lassies” made doughnuts for soldiers on the front lines of World War I. Back at home, Doughnut Day became a way to raise awareness about the war and to raise funds for Salvation Army’s activities on the battlefield.
