While this NECTAR Mattress follow-up post is long overdue, it is not due to anything with the mattress! This follow-up was something that just fell off my radar. So instead of a 30-day follow up… this is an eight-month follow-up!
We received a queen size NECTAR Mattress for my son back in June. You can watch our NECTAR Video Review of our unboxing. This was our second “bed in a box” as we had purchased one from another company about six months before this one and we were very happy with it.
NECTAR Mattress after eight months of use, and no body impressions!
Comfort: So my son has been sleeping on this every night for eight months now. He has not complained one time. I even took a nap in it maybe once or twice while he was at school… shhh ;). From my experience, it is firmer than my own mattress (from another company) which is something I like, NECTAR calls it a medium-firm or a 6 on a scale of 1-10.
Smell: Once we set it up, there was a smell that came from the mattress and/or packing material. The smell did take about 2 days to dissipate but once it was gone, it was gone. Even if you put your face in the mattress to smell it, you couldn’t pick up a scent.
Cooling: NECTAR is made with four performance layers and a milled cooling cover. Not quite sure what a milled cooling cover is, but it works!! You can feel a cool (not cold) sensation when you lay on the mattress.
Breathable: Woven into NECTAR’s performance layers is an aloe-based cooling layer to assist with air wicking. My son says that he has not had any issues with becoming hot or swings in his temperature like with a regular spring mattress.
Memory Foam: Before I purchased my mattress one of my biggest fears with a memory foam mattress was that over time the mattress would have big divots or body impressions from sleeping in it. So far this is not been the case in either my mattress or my son’s mattress.
NECTAR Mattress Follow-up Final Thought: This is the second memory foam “bed in a box” mattress that we own. I can honestly say that I am happy with them both. I will definitely be getting my youngest son one when the time comes! I am impressed with the quality, the material in that it is breathable and cooling, how comfortable a sleep you get, and that my fears of memory foam leaving body impressions is wiped out. Plus another benefit is the cost versus a box spring mattress… it just can’t be beaten!
