In anticipation of Steven Spielberg’s newest film, Lincoln (in theaters nationwide 11/16), Disney Publishing Worldwide has launched its newest book using Apple’s iBook Author software – Lincoln: A Steven Spielberg Film – Discover the Story.
With a foreword by Steven Spielberg, Lincoln: A Steven Spielberg Film – Discover the Story dives into the making of the film by first giving the story some historical context with a look at each of the actors in character. Chapter One, titled Players on the Stage of History, offers readers a chance to watch intimate interviews with the actors like Daniel Day-Lewis, Sally Field, and Joseph Gordon-Levitt while they reveal the experiences they had recreating notable American luminaries.
As the story unfolds, the enhanced book offers a glimpse into the life of Lincoln leading up to his tragic assassination, the ending of slavery as well as the Civil War. Lincoln: A Steven Spielberg Film – Discover the Story also includes “making of” photos from the film, an extensive look into the set design, and illustrates how Spielberg was able to recreate history with truth and conviction.
