Goodnight Baseball by Michael Dahl
This is a cute story with great illustrations by Christina Forshay. My five-year-old wanted to read it twice before bed. Goodnight Baseball is about a little boy and his dad that go to a baseball game and all the favorites that go along, getting that good seat to be able to see, eating hot dogs, catching that fly ball, and of course watching your team win.
“We eat popcorn and hot dogs and hold drinks in out laps…with the names of our favorite teams bright on our caps.”
After the game, it is time to say goodbye and goodnight. This book is great, and just in time for baseball season! It captures the “magic” of the game along with every little boy’s dream and excitement of a fun-filled day at the ball field.
