When I was contacted by Budsies, I thought that this was such a cool idea, custom stuffed animals. Especially since my son loves to draw and we have so many pictures, not only from art class at school but from his constant creating army scenes at home. He loves to draw army tanks, army battle scenes, army planes, and choppers. So I think this would be an excellent way to preserve that memory, with one of his army creations.
I chose this Army Chopper that he drew. I did run it through Photoshop to place the green and yellow colors on the chopper, but you don’t have to do that. You can just put in the instructions what color you would like if it is not already colored in.
Ordering was easy, you can email the image or just upload the artwork to the Budsies Website. Then describe what the picture is, and any colors you may want. On the chopper, the USA was just black but I thought that having it in red, white and blue would look great since it is an American Chopper.
Once it arrived, I was surprised how well constructed and well it matched his drawing. I wasn’t sure how they would do the helicopter rotors or the landing wheels that he drew but turned out perfect. The stitching is tight so none of the embellishments have a chance to fall off.
I absolutely LOVE it! My son thought it was so cool that something he drew is a “real” thing that he can now play with. He actually made me several more drawings to complete his army and asked if I would get them made for him too!
Budsies do take about 6-8 weeks for hem to create your one of a kind design, so make sure to give plenty of time if ordering for a gift or special occasion. And your Budsie does come with a canvas carrying tote with a before and after picture on it for storage.

I love how they captured your son’s drawing accurately and turned it into a plush toy. My 5 year old daughter loves to draw and I’m sure she would love to see her unicorn drawings made into a plush toy she can hug and carry around. 🙂

This is such a great idea. I wish they had this when I was younger as I loved to draw and would win prizes at school all the time.

I love this idea! This would be a cherished keepsake. It would be too cute to have a Budsie version of her dad 🙂 wonder if my daughter would want to photoshop/change colors on her creations. I also like that the ordering process is easy.

To be able to have something you drew come to life in a stuffed buddy is so cool. I think any child would love this and fill their room with their own original designs. My family comes from a long line of artist so this would be fun for my niece who is just the right age to love doing this. I also know a little boy who loves space and is having his bedroom redone and this would be so cool for his new room.
