Air Wick brand celebrated National Park Week, April 20 – 28…(did you even know there was a National Park Week?), with the release of six new limited edition fragrances that are inspired by the essence of our national parks. Air Wick developed the scents inspired by the unique flora and elements of popular parks such as the Grand Canyon, Denali and American Samoa.

The Air Wick National Parks Collection is available in scented oils, scented candles, reed diffusers, and a freshmatic spray. I received a Denali Candle and four scented oils along with the scented oil warmer to test out and conducted a little, and unofficial, smell test with the oils. I received four out of the six new scents to try out and of those the winner was clear…American Samoa, with a coconuty fragrance that everyone was able to pick up on and liked the best.

The six new limited edition fragrances include:

Grand Canyon:

  • Be awestruck by the breathtaking majesty of Grand Canyon National Park and discover the subtle floral notes of delicate cactus blossoms carried in the warm summer breeze.
  • My testers thought this had sweet, cherry, fruity, mango and strong scent.

Virgin Islands:

  • Find yourself in the idyllic paradise of Virgin Islands National Park and uncover the delightful notes of tropical plumeria and sweet honeysuckle.

American Samoa:

  • Explore the lush paradise of American Samoa National Park to experience the sweet refreshing notes of native coconut and island palms.
  • My testers picked up the coconut right away. It had a slight vanilla scent as well. This was the big winner, 3 of the 5 “smell testers” preferred this scent.

  • Seek renewal in the sun-drenched valleys of Denali National Park to breathe in the clean notes of pure cotton grass and fresh spring air.
  • This one sad to say was the least favorite. Thoughts on this were not good. My testers said this reminded them of dryer sheets, a bathroom and soap.

Gulf Islands:

  • Bask in the fragrant scents that take you to the Gulf Islands, rich in white sand beaches and seashores that evoke sun-drenched sweet notes of a summertime paradise.

  • Escape to a tropical island sunset at Honokohau National Historical Park and savor the unspoiled notes of exotic papaya and hibiscus flower.
  • My testers all could pick out the citrus scent as well as papaya. They also said they smelled orange, tangerine and grapefruit.

The next time I head to the store, I am looking for the other two scents to see what they smell like. I love having scented oils in almost all the rooms in the house. I also like changing it up a bit instead of having all the same scents in all the rooms all the time and when new scents come out for each season or limited editions like the National Parks, I tend to stock up! Can’t go vacationing bring the scents to you…it’s a fun idea! Virgin Islands and American Samoa both sound great. Many national parks offer free entrance during National Park Week. Great for families.

I think I would also like to try the Hawai’i scent as long as the citrus scent wasn’t over powerful. I think the American Samoa: would be my favorite of the six scents.
