Harry Fellowes founded the company in 1917 with the now-famous Bankers Box® records storage boxes. As the workspace evolved so did Fellowes, expanding into new categories, such as technology accessories, and introducing innovative products, including the first personal shredder.
We managed to destroy our last shredder so I was glad when Marci said she had a new one to try. I received a Fellowes PS-12Cs Cross-Cut Shredder to try out. This shredder shreds 12 sheets into cross-cut particles, which is a security level 3. It cuts pretty fast and can shred paper clips, credit cards and staples with ease. The best feature is that the shredder shuts off immediately if hands get too close to the opening, which is great with little ones around. It also offers a lock button but it right out in front and if you have crafty little ones this feature might not help. It would have been better to place it on the backside. One other features that need improvement is that you cannot put a bag in the drawer to catch the shreds. This makes for a mess every time I empty it. But overall, so far, I am happy with its performance.
