This has been a great summer toy for my 8-year-old son. He was able to complete the blaster by himself since there were only 94 pieces, and it only took him 20 minutes. The instructions were very simple to read.
You basically build two sides exactly the same and hook them together with a few pieces that go between them to hold them together. I have to say, when looking at it, I was concerned that it would not hold up in a Nerf war, but it has been dropped and hit so many times that I am now a believer. The blaster is a solid toy once put together.
The blaster comes with 5 foam darts, and it is easy to load them and easy to load the trigger! The Nerf darts fire up to 75 feet, which has been nice for my boy, who plays with older kids who know how to move and hide better. It has leveled the playing field when playing since he can hide behind something and still hit the older boys.
However, one downside is that I have seen some of the bruises on the other kids because if my son fires it at close range, it will leave a mark. I would love to see him try some of the other blasters, though, this one can only fire one shot at a time, so you have to reload and have a constant supply of Nerf darts on hand. This gun is compatible with the entire K-FORCE Build and Blast line, which is nice.
