We had a snow day today, so we snuggled in and watched Wreck-It Ralph. If your kids like playing video games, they will surely like this movie. Ralph is the “bad guy” in the video game; he is unpopular because he is big and smashes things. One day, he decides he doesn’t want to be bad anymore and wants a medal to prove that he is good. And so the adventure begins.
During his quest, he meets Sergeant Calhoun from the action game Hero’s Duty and Vanellope von Schweetz from the candy-coated cart-racing game Sugar Rush. Then, Ralph accidentally unleashes a deadly enemy that threatens the entire arcade. I won’t spoil the ending for you! Both my five and nine years old enjoyed watching this movie. While you don’t have to be a video game buff to enjoy, plenty of references bring you back to the good old arcade days.
