In anticipation of Steven Spielberg’s newest film, Lincoln (in theaters nationwide 11/16), Disney Publishing Worldwide has launched its latest book using Apple’s iBook Author software – Lincoln: A Steven Spielberg Film – Discover the Story.
With a foreword by Steven Spielberg, Lincoln: A Steven Spielberg Film – Discover the Story dives into making the film by first giving the story some historical context with a look at each actor in character. Chapter One, titled Players on the Stage of History, allows readers to watch intimate interviews with actors like Daniel Day-Lewis, Sally Field, and Joseph Gordon-Levitt. At the same time, they reveal the experiences they had recreating notable American luminaries.
As the story unfolds, the enhanced book offers a glimpse into Lincoln’s life leading up to his tragic assassination, the ending of slavery, and the Civil War. Lincoln: A Steven Spielberg Film—Discover the Story includes “making of” photos from the film, an extensive look into the set design, and illustrations of how Spielberg recreates history with truth and conviction.
