PicPocket Books has a wide variety of book apps for kids. Each of the interactive children’s books comes with the following options: “audio narration, automatic page-turning, touch-screen interaction and “learn-to-read” functionality in which words are highlighted as they are read aloud and/or can be touched to be heard.” – PicPocket Books
My 3 year old loves to play with my husband’s iPhone, especially that Angry Birds game, which is great for hand-eye coordination. But as long as he is also using it for learning too, I don’t mind him playing the games. I like that there are tons of great books out there for him to look at and listen to as well. He is a little wiz not only on the iPhone but iPad too, in which PicPocket Books are available for both. I choose Big Stuff Rescue Vehicles, Big Stuff Giant Earth Movers and Peterkin Meet a Star for him. He loves firetrucks, so he has watched that many times! One of the great features that I like is that the words will highlight as the text is read and then replay when touched. These books have kept him busy many dinners out at restaurants!
UPDATE 2019: These apps are no longer available, please read our other app reviews.
