Little Chickies/Los Pollitos by Susie Jaramillo
I received an advance copy of the “reversible” bilingual board book, Little Chickies. One side features the Little Chickies nursery rhyme in English while the other side is in Spanish. Each page also features an interactive lift the flap. I think this book is too cute! I love the idea of introducing a second language to children, especially at a young age.
This book is based on ‘Little Chickies Squeal/Los Pollitos Dicen,’ one of the most popular nursery rhymes in the Spanish-speaking world, ‘Little Chickies/Los Pollitos’ is an homage to the demanding nature of babies and the unconditional love, care, and warmth given to them by their mommies.

I am a firm believer that the more languages you know the more skilled you are to problem solve. I came from a bilingual family but I had lost my Spanish and had to relearn it. Like most people I came from a single-mom household who was not always around so my older brother helped raise me.We were a family living paycheck-to-paycheck. Singing lullabies were far and few in between.
Anyway, Spanish has allowed me the ability to help others more times than I care to count at bus stations, hospitals, at home, and at another country. Spanish is a lovely language I only wish everyone knew. I commend canticosworld for helping children learn Spanish.

I think it’s never to early to introduce a new language.

This would be a very good thing to establish bi-lingual skills at an early age. I thank you for the great review.
