I started teaching my daughter colors when she was about 2.She wrote her name when she was 4.Id love to a toddler kit for my 18 month old granddaughter. Thank you for the chance ?
My best tip is to have patience. Some will learn faster than others and if they don’t comprehend the first repetition is the best way to help them learn most of the time.
We did several thing for my daughter who was and is still kinda struggling to read in 1st grade. We would read the cereal boxes with her every morning and do reading with her every night. We also hired a tutor for her.
My youngest daughter needed extra help. If you say things out loud a couple of times it helps the memory.
I thinking reading books to your child is one of the best ways to help them learn. Educational games and puzzles are helpful, too.
Video games are a big thing these days. I didn’t have them growing up but my husband did. I didn’t want video games for my kids but my husband bought them anyways. So what I did was told my kids “however long you play video games is how long you’ll have to read” So if they played 30 minutes, they’d owe me 30 minutes of reading. Sometimes if I knew they were struggling with another subject like math, they’d do that instead. It worked well because they’re all advanced readers now.
Repetition and creativity have always worked pretty well for helping my son out. We’re working on learning how to read now!
