My family and I recently returned from our family vacation in Treasure Island, Florida. If you are unfamiliar with Treasure Island, it is located near St. Pete Beach, at the tip of the Gulf of Mexico. We stayed in Clearwater a few years ago and had a great time, and we later found out it is only about a 45-minute drive between the two cities.
For our stay in Treasure Island, we chose to stay at Sunset Vistas Beachfront Suites. When I was researching condos, I loved the scrolling pictures on Sunset Vistas’ site. As you know, sometimes looks can be deceiving… but not in this case. I also selected this condo because we wanted a larger place to stay, since we would be cooped up together for a week, and hotels just do not provide the space we need.
The condo was a two-bedroom suite (870 Square Feet) with two baths, a full kitchen, a pullout sofa, and a beachfront view! It also included a washer and dryer, which was put to good use every day! Below are several pictures from around the property, including the room.
Courtyard View includes fountains and walking paths

View of the geo-thermal heated pool overlooking the beach, as well as the whirlpool spa.

View from our balcony of the Gulf of Mexico, and you can also see the kiddie pool, which is separate from the main pool.

View of the Cafe from the Courtyard. Right behind the stairs is a ping pong table. The bottom floor on the other side is the main check-in office.

View inside the Cafe, which features breakfast and lunch with outside or inside seating areas.

Walking into the condo….

Dining table and living room with pullout sofa. There is also a TV opposite the sofa.

Washer and Dryer… so glad we had these after spending time on the beach!

Hallway Bathroom

Master Bedroom with a queen bed and a walkout porch with a view of the Gulf.

Master Bedroom with TV

Master Bathroom. This was very small, as there was no counter space to lay out even my beauty items. There also needed to be more hooks to hang bathing suits and towels.

Second bedroom with a queen bed.

Second bedroom closet and TV.

Near the entrance to the beach is #ScubaSteve. Make sure to grab a pic with him and post to social media!

A beautiful Florida Sunset

Now, while we loved staying right on the beach and having easy beach access, there were a few pros and cons with the condo:
Pros:
- Large kitchen with bar and dining table
- Ocean View (make sure to request this)
- Dishes, utensils, pots, and pans are provided
- Queen-size sleeper sofa
- Coastal-inspired decor
- Clean and well-maintained, this includes the whole property
- Close to a shopping village
- Large clean pool with a separate kiddie pool
Cons:
- Only basic cable. Now, this might not seem like a big deal, but when it rains for four days straight, movies to keep the kids entertained are a must!
- Small bathroom, especially in the master bedroom, no counter space
- No beach or pool towels, you have to use your bath towe,l which means you need to wash them
- *This was a con for us* Queen beds in both rooms. These are just too small to fit two people (ye,s we are spoiled with a King bed!)
Tip: When you head to the grocery store, make sure to pick up a bottle of detergent so you can wash your clothes/towels. The front office does charge $1 per pod.
Located within minutes of the condo is a large shopping village called Johns Pass. Not only are there stores to pick up knick-knacks, but there are plenty of places to eat. And if you are looking for water activities, you can find jet ski rentals, fishing, and parasailing. We visited Johns Pass several times throughout our trip!
Overall, we were very happy with our choice of condo and its beachfront location! We would definitely stay at the Sunset Vistas on our return trips!
