CVS MinuteClinic: Stay Well This Winter Season

When your child wakes up with a terrible sore throat or fever, what do you do? You first call the doctor right? And you know what a pain that can be, trying to set an appointment, waiting to get in to see the doc, then waiting in the room for them to come in. It can sometimes be a two hour ordeal just for them to tell you the prognosis.

Well, I have found a magical place (ok, maybe not so magical but convient) that I can take the kids for minor annoyances like strep or get the flu shot. We have taken all the kids and even I have gone on several occasions. There is hardly a wait time, I don’t need an appointment and I can walk right in and be seen by a nurse practitioner. Plus all the records are sent to the kids pediatrician so they have a record if any antibiotics were prescribed or why they were seen.

The MinuteClinic is a walk-in clinic located in select CVS/pharmacy stores in 28 states and DC. They are open 7 days a week with evening hours and you don’t need to make an appointment! Sometimes the kids come home from school not feeling well and trying to get a same day appointment that late is out of the question. My local MinuteClinic is open until 8pm for those last minute calls: do we see the doctor, do we not see the doctor, this earache came out of nowhere, what, our doctor’s office is out of flu shots!
