What a great day we had at the Day Out With Thomas Event. My son who is 5 met up with his cousin who is 4, and it was right up their alley. The train ride for us was a little warm, as there was no AC but did not seem to bother the kiddos. The train itself is older and not well maintained from a cosmetic perspective. Obviously, something we adults pay more attention to. The kids were very pleased with the 30-minute ride as that was long enough due to the heat. One thing I did take notice of is most of the staff were high school age volunteers which they were not very energetic or excited to be there.
The Thomas Town was set up to explore after you got off the train ride. The kids had a paper to get stamped along the different stops and at the end received a couple of nice toy trinkets as a prize. There were some tempting over priced gift shop items in the final tent, but the free treat made them easy to avoid. The activities in the Thomas Town were nicely done and at no additional cost. They included performers from the Cincinnati Circus, a visit with Sir Topham Hat, bounce houses, a storyteller, and a free play area with multiple train sets. We ended our visit with a picture of Thomas the Engine.

How fun! Beautifully set up. I bet everyone did have fun. It’s amazing how the temperatures don’t bother kids when they are having fun. 25 minutes seems like a great time for a train ride; not too long but gives you a good ride.
