My 6 year old daughter received the Matilda Jane Clothing, Cleo Lap Dress in soft heathered cocoa brown from Matilda Jane, just in time for back to school! After trying on the outfit, we were pleasantly surprised that the sizes (in our case 10/12), ran true to our expectation in the dress, but a little smaller in the leggings. The outfit is adorable, being a plain brown dress accompanied by grey & yellow striped stretchy legging with really cute frill around the ankles. My daughter wore the dress and it was pretty and dressy enough to wear to church, yet durable enough to wear to play.
The knit dress and leggings come as a set from the Paint by Numbers collection. Since this ensemble was part of the Paint by Numbers collection, the clothing tag is a very cute paint by numbers picture that your little artist can personalize. The company mantra “An unpredictable clothing company” is true to its word. The eclectic clothing lines allow for freedom of expression for every little girl. There are a few collections of clothes from Matilda Jane, the Paint by Number being their newest collection, they also have Heart-Soul-Pride and Good Hart. Twice a year, Matilda Jane Clothing introduces a new line. These collections roll out in the Spring and Fall and are available exclusively from their Trunk Keepers.
You can also check out the Lookbook, a window that you can look through each collection and customize your outfit, i.e. mix and match pieces to see how they will look prior to purchase. This is a fun way to make sure you have that “perfect” outfit.

I love that these outfits can be dressed up or down. My fabric of choice for both my daughter and myself is cotton b/c it’s soft and comfy.
The fall colors are so pretty and I like that they are constantly adding to their line. Also, the tag is a creative idea

I have ten year old twins and picking out outfits for school can be a nightmare at time. It would be nice to have clothing items like this for them to choose from so they could mix and match easily and find outfits that fit their styles.
I love the mix of colors and patterns that make this brand so unique: this probably adds an element of cheer and fun to dressing up! The clothes all look comfortable as well.
