Last weekend, I had the privilege of attending the Press Release and DVD Screening of Disney’s Beverly Hills Chihuahua 3 in Pasadena, California. I stayed at The Langham Huntington, which is set on 23 acres overlooking the suburbs of San Marino. This is where the movie was actually filmed! After watching the movie, I went around the hotel and said, “I ate there. I saw that in the movie…” It was quite an experience.
I arrived at Los Angeles airport and had about a 45-minute drive to the hotel; luckily, I had a driver. As I got closer to the hotel, I was surprised to realize that it was surrounded by a neighborhood, albeit a very nice neighborhood. As we pulled into the hotel, I couldn’t wait to see the inside. As you can see, the lobby contained a beautiful flower arrangement, and the fragrance just filled the room.
The Langham Huntington, Pasadena is an iconic landmark hotel since 1907 and is based on the original Langham grand hotel of 1865 in London. When I checked into my room, I was greeted with a beautiful flower arrangement, chocolates, and champagne! I thought, wow, they really outdo themselves. Then, I discovered that my wonderful husband had the flowers and champagne sent to my room for my arrival. How sweet is he! My Deluxe Room was “Spacious and sophisticated; these rooms project the aura of a bygone era with tasteful period furnishings. Framed by ornate drapes, the windows allow the room to fill with natural light. Italian marble bathrooms and Frette linens complete the picture of opulence.”
While walking around the grounds, I felt quiet and calm. My room overlooked the Picture Bridge, so I set out on a mission to find it and see what it was all about. The Bridge contained paintings of California scenes. It was built in 1913, and the scenes were painted by Frank Moore in 1932.
On my first night at The Langham, I got in late and ordered room service. I had a Caesar salad with shaved Parmesan and a mozzarella pizza. The next night, I had a Terrace burger topped with a crisp cheddar. I have made cheddar crisps at home but never thought of placing on a burger, very good. Then, on Saturday morning, I dined outside at the Terrace and had breakfast. I sat adjacent to the pool in the cool early morning air, relaxed and ready to start my four-hour flight back home.

While I don’t have a dog, a few of the other bloggers who attended do and brought them along for the fun.
You can read some of the other posts by bloggers who did bring their pups and how they were living in the lap of luxury this weekend:
