We have had the SCT ScanGauge II installed in our ’05 Powerstroke and haven’t even touched a quarter of its capabilities. Since we haven’t towed all winter, we are excited to play with the ScanGauge this summer when we have about 10,000 lbs. behind the truck! Anything for a little better mileage, right?!?

Outstanding Features The ScanGaugeII scans DTCs, also known as Diagnostic Trouble Codes. If your car encounters problems that require troubleshooting, the warning light automatically turns on. This is GREAT, as it prevents you from heading to your local parts store to get your vehicle scanned!

Reliable Performance Monitor Apart from its troubleshooting capacities, a performance monitor also shows the performance details. You can see performance measurements like speed, distance, and time using the LCD display. We’ve also been monitoring the EGTs on the display to ensure we don’t overheat the truck…that would spell DISASTER!

Fuel Efficiency SCT ScanGauge II provides real-time data about your vehicle’s instant and average fuel economy, fuel used for each trip, cost per mile, gallons per hour, and more! Any vehicle owner should want to use fuel efficiently; you can’t do that without a monitoring device. With ScanGaugeII, consumers will obtain certain information regarding the amount of fuel used, the fuel used, and the cost per mile. With these pertinent details, drivers can easily make the necessary adjustments based on the fuel costs as shown by the vehicle monitor.

Installing the ScanGauge II was SUPER simple! All you need is the 6-foot cord that easily detaches from your OBDII connection port and plugs into the ScanGauge II device. The best part is that there are no tools required for your installation! So if you are lookin’ to surprise your Hubby, this might be a GREAT present! You will mount the ScanGauge unit on the dash or console. We put ours on the windshield in the bottom left corner so the driver could still see it while driving, but it was out of the way and didn’t obstruct driving.

I think the hardest part about the ScanGauge II is setting it up and figuring out its uses. Being that my Hubs is an ASE Master Certified Tech, works with diagnostic tools every day, and is a Gear Head himself, this part has been a bit tricky. So be prepared to spend some time learning the device! However, I think it all works out in the end for the SALE price of $159 at Meezer.com (RV $169) and the dollars you’ll save with your better fuel mileage!
