When I became a Mom (nearly six years ago!!!), I was a Pampers snob. I only bought Pampers because that’s what was given to us in the hospital, and they just seemed to work. However, as child #2 came around, I learned two things. First, not all diapers will fit your child in the same way. Second, inexpensive diapers don’t necessarily mean they are “cheaper.”
Toward the end of diapering DD1, I’d reach for the Luvs on the shelves. The Huggies brand simply didn’t keep the blowouts in, so I was doing more laundry and spending less time with my baby girl. The Pampers fizzled out simply because of the price. I mean, who can afford to spend $10+ on a pack of diapers?!? That’s when I started to coupon heavily—and well, that’s fizzled out, too!
Once DD2 arrived, we quickly realized that because of the price of Pampers (and no longer couponing!) and getting diaper rashes from wearing Huggies, we were going to rely on Luvs. So it was nearly two years ago that I turned from a Pampers snob to a devoted Luvs consumer. Not only have I been happy with the quality, but the price is nice, too!
Luvs is a brand that I can honestly trust. Sure, there might be that overnight leakage {or blowout} here and there, but they are far few! I can’t afford to spend $10+ for a package of Pampers constantly. Instead, I purchase a $7 pack of Luvs {everyday price, no coupons needed!} and am completely satisfied. If you were to look in my Ju Ju Be Diaper bag (check out my review!) for diapers, you’d see only Luvs for my kiddos!
I received a package of Luvs to try out on the new baby…and since I’m still awaiting his arrival, I went ahead and bought a package of the new Luvs super-absorbent diapers for my TT girl. For some reason, she pees A LOT at night. Like I should be changing her at least twice in the middle of the night, I am trying to enjoy sleep while I can. So before the Luvs superabsorbent was released, I used Luvs during the day and Pampers Baby Dry at night simply because the diaper wasn’t holding everything. So you’d find me struggling in the mornings to get TT a bath and dressed and her bedsheets changed. With the superabsorbent Luvs, I have been using them day and night now for two weeks and haven’t had an issue! So I’m super excited to try the newborn diapers out on baby boy…although I’m not looking forward to those first few blowouts 😉
The secret is out!
Luvs has created a super absorbent diaper available at Walmart and other retailers. The Luvs brand is now 15% more absorbent than Luvs that you have bought in the past. This makes me super happy since baby #3 is in transit {less than 6 weeks now!}. We all know about the newborn blowouts. So, while I’ll bring home the Pampers brand from the hospital, I’ve got a stash of newborn Luv diapers in baby boy’s closet waiting for his arrival.
