READY, SET, LETS ROLL!
Bored of COVID? Need something to do? This yard game is one that you can play while social distancing. It can be played on the beach, in a park, or your back yard while having a party. I personally will have them in with my camping gear for those lazy days. A new FUN, exciting lawn sport for your family!
The Rollors yard game (MSRP $50) comes in a carry bag for travel, three waterproof red discs, three waterproof blue discs, two pyramid goals, and 2 measuring cords on top of goals for measuring.
Just like the game bocce ball, it scores when your roller is closest to the goal. The idea of the game is to roll the disc, not throw it toward the goal. The goals are set up 25′ apart. Scoring is done by adding up the numbers on the sides of the disc. If it is touching the goal, you get double the points. The closet disk receives the points.
My kids and I played the game for about 45 minutes. It was nice because the games only go to 21 points, so they are fast for the kids who don’t want to be tied up for a long period of time, but long enough that if you’re going to play again, you still have an interest. We are very competitive here at our house, so by the last game, we were inventing ways to make it harder. We would shorten our scoring radius and put the goals on some uneven grass. Each game took about 15 minutes. I can see the kids playing this while we have a pool party or even when we go camping. It is very small and compact so that I can store it very easily.
One thing is for sure, dogs like the game too. They just love the “rolling” disc. We actually had to put ours in a “sit-stay.” It was killing her to not run after the discs. But in the end, it was a great way to get outside and play with the kids.
There is a Rollors Expansion Pack that can be purchased so you can increase the number of players or teams. The parts are made from 100% New Zealand hardwood and all materials are resistant to wear and should offer a lifetime of gameplay!
