Last week my son and I had the opportunity for a special night out courtesy of Frisch’s. If you follow along on Twitter, I posted during our night out while being treated to a special dinner at Frisch’s then on to the opening night of The Nutcracker at the Aronoff!
As part of Frisch’s Home Cooking Menu, we got to sample the new lineup of dinner entrées including roast beef, country-fried steak, and turkey, all served with a side of green beans and mashed potatoes. The mashed potatoes were so creamy and fluffy… all of these dinners are perfect for a cold winters night!
For the first time, Frisch’s best- selling dessert is available in a special holiday flavor: peppermint hot fudge cake, but it is only available through February 7, 2017! This cake features peppermint ice cream between two pieces of cake, topped with hot fudge, whipped cream, and peppermint flakes. Pepperminty Goodness!
After dinner, we headed over to the Aronoff Center for The Nutcracker! It has been 12 years since I had seen it last, the first time I went I took my son and he was only five years old. This time, my nine-year-old accompanied me and this was his first time at the ballet. We had a fun time, and I really enjoyed being there with him for his first time watching The Nutcracker.
From the very first performance of The Nutcracker in 1974, Frisch’s Restaurants has been the Ballet’s primary sponsor. It is one of the longest-lasting examples of corporate sponsorship in American arts history! Way to go Frisch’s! Hopefully, it won’t be another 12 years before I see The Nutcracker again! My three boys may not be too excited to sit through the ballet, but the way I see it, I am helping them to enjoy the arts!

That has got to be one of the prettiest desserts I have ever seen. I love the contrast of the pink and the fudge. My favorite part is the maraschino cherry on top!

I don’t think there’s a Frisch’s in my area. The meals do look delicious! And what a nice way to end the night!

Wow this looks amazing. I just had a chocolate peppermint mug cake for breakfast (bad bad me), but wow, this is beyond any fantasy. It really is a nice treat!

I’d love to eat that peppermint cake concoction. I enjoy watching the Nutcracker.

I have never heard of Frisch’s before. I do love the look of that cake though although I am not a ‘cake’ person that sounds delicious. Peppermint ice cream and cake? Has too be good! It sounds like you had a great time!
