Elmer’s is the most well-known brand for glue. Personally I can not even think of another brand off the top of my head. If you have started your back to school shopping, as I’ve have, then you have probably seen all the different varieties. I received five different products from Elmer’s to try, three of which I have not tried before.
White School Glue – These are available in 4 and 8 oz sizes and is the #1 brand for glue. Who used to like to squeeze glue into their hands and let to dry just to be able to peel it off? It’s OK to admit it, you are among friends…
Disappearing Purple School Glue Sticks – The disappearing purple formula goes on purple so it is easy to see when applying, and dries clear. We used these for my son when he was in Kindergarten. It made it easier for him to see where the glue was so he could take his time to place the pieces on the sheet of homework.
Colored Glue Sticks – Elmer’s colored glue sticks are specially formulated with vibrant color (with names like Fire and Lava) so you can glue and create with color at the same time. You can use as a glue stick or add color and designs to craft and school projects. We have not had these before and when I used for the first time, I did notice these glue sticks did not have a lot of “sticky” to them, so if you were using glitter, I don’t feel like it would hold. Plus you can see that it goes on kind of clumpy in spots. I would have the kids use these if they wanted the color to show through on a project though.
Elmer’s School Glue Naturals 30 pack – These glue sticks are made from over 88% natural ingredients. Elmer’s Naturals School Glue Sticks are made from plants, a rapidly renewable resource. In addition, the glue stick containers are made from 25% post-industrial recycled plastic with a label made from FSC certified paper and printed with soy inks. The glue sticks apply and dry clear. I have not had the Naturals before, but do love the glue sticks. These are also available in a single, two-pack and a squeeze bottle.
School Glue Gel – Elmer’s School Glue Gel is ideal for paper, cloth, and crafts. I have not tried this product before. As you can see it goes on with a slight blue color. It doesn’t run either, which is nice when the kids are using glue on their own. Kids have a tendency to use more than they should and when that happens, having a glue that will not drip off the paper is nice. This would also be nice for the kid’s crafts when using tissue paper or fabric.
