I recently discovered California Found, a monthly subscription service of expertly curated, small-batch, and handmade goods from California’s most talented artisans!
The box below was for April. Each month, California Found donates 10% of its profits to local organizations in the community. For April, the donation was made to Heal the Bay for their work to make coastal waters/watersheds in Greater LA healthy, safe, and clean.
Each box comes with postcard style cards that talks about each company and product. These cards also feature discounts and where the products can be found.
April California Found Box
The April Box contains the following six products:
Lavender & Lemongrass Moisturiser Cream ($12) from Crunchy Beauty. Miriam created Crunchy Beauty to introduce the world to a line of cleaner and truly natural products that perform beautifully and never use synthetic ingredients, fillers, or preservatives. This cream left my hands feeling smooth and moisturized with a hint of scent. While I could not pick out the lavender, it did have more of a lemony fresh hint to it.
South Coast Botanicals Notebook and Peach Flower Gift Tags ($14) from Fiber & Dye. This studio is based in LA and helps those celebrating life moments! These two products are very summery and cutesy! The notebook has blank unlined pages – I will be tossing this in my purse so my son can doodle when we are out and about!
Two-pack Olive Oil Sampler ($10) from Olive Alchemy. This tasting room (taproom) and retail store are located in Calabasas. The two samples I received included Sicilian Lemon White Balsamic Vinegar and Tuscan Herb Infused Olive Oil (their most popular).
Magnolia Soy Candle ($11.95) from Four Points Trading Co. The candle I received was Magnolia, a sweet scent! Some of their Fruit Loops, Red Hots, Whiskey, and Sawdust, to name a few.
According to Annie Singnore, the owner of Four Points Trading Co., “Our Kitchen became a laboratory, making different small batches of candles every week. Each one was specifically chosen to bring us back to a time and a place we longed for. From the handmade wooden crates naturally stained by our daughter to the measuring and mixing of the wax. Every candle is handcrafted, and hand-poured right in our home with love.”
Mini Quartz Hoop Earrings ($36) from Craft & Copper. These pieces from designer Brenna Van Norman are designed with a simple, clean look that enhances the natural beauty of the gemstones. I received the purple triangle hoops, also available in five other colors and shapes. Each pair is hand formed and hammered with a small wrapped quartz bead dangle. Very classy!
Water/Wine Bottle Sac ($39) from Urbana Sacs. These sacs are very unique in that they are made with washable paper! They are made with a variety of virgin pulp fiber blends and recycled felt plus they are manufactured through cultivation, not deforestation. The bag washes like any other fabric, maintaining its composition so it can be used over and over again!
