My girls (ages 7 and 10) were delighted to see that Frozen Fever was the interlude to Cinderella! This short story was so cute and the kids just seemed to enjoy it. Of course, they love Frozen. It was a great, smart introduction to Cinderella.
Cinderella was so delightful to watch with my mom and daughters. It’s what a Disney movie should be, in my opinion. We loved the story from the beginning to the end.
I asked my daughters what they enjoyed most about the movie. They both mentioned the beautiful costumes and they also enjoyed hearing more about Cinderella’s parents. Although the beginning was sad, it really touched our hearts. All four of us cried because it hit home. It would be horrible to lose your mother, especially at such a young age. You could also see the pain in Cinderella’s mom. I can’t imagine having to say goodbye to my children forever on this earth. Although it was sad, it gave us a little background to what her parents/family were like. The books we’ve read never really mentioned her parents and we liked learning about their love and dedication for one another. Cinderella’s mom asked her to have the courage and be kind. What a wonderful message for all children to hear. We have spoken of these words, in our house, several times since the movie. This world could use a little more kindness in the hearts of the people that live here. Courage is also important because you never know what life is going to throw at you. You need to be strong in who you are as a person, and the beliefs that you have, and have the courage to follow them. This movie demonstrates all the above.
The girls also mentioned that the story’s timeframe was a little different. In the book, the prince visits Cinderella’s house the day after the ball, in the movie several weeks went by before finding his true love. My daughters did realize the reason behind waiting to find her. Since the prince’s dad died he had to organize his life and grief the loss of his dad before finding his princess. My daughters didn’t say if they liked this or not, they just mentioned it was different.
I was so pleased to see a Disney fairytale that was sweet, beautiful, and had a good message for kids throughout the movie. The scenery, costumes, and characters were all magnificent!!! It was a pleasure to view this movie and bring joy to the people that attended it with me. My mom is 75 years old and really had good things to say about it too. I have always loved fairytales and this one hit the WOW factor for me. I think many children will be dreaming about princesses and princes after watching this movie. All four of us loved this movie!

A wonderful review. Thanks so much for explaining about the parents. That’s something we never saw before. I’m going with my granddaughters and my daughters to see it. I love Disney movies. They re fitting for all ages I think.
