Mr. Flux Kyo Maclear
Mr. Flux is a man who loves change. One day he moves in next to Martin, a boy who doesn’t like change. Mr. Flux enjoyed mixing things up while everyone else in the neighborhood loved the same old same old. Until one day Martin sees a box that was addressed to Mr. Flux and takes it to him the only problem is that Mr. Flux didn’t want it, he thought it best that Martin keeps it. When Martin asked what was in it, Mr. Flux said “change”. Martin couldn’t get rid of it so he took it with him. The next day he brought it back to Mr. Flux and you know what happened? You need to read the book to find out! I love the illustrations in this book. If you have ever watched the cartoon, Foster’s Home for Imaginary Friends, it reminds me of the same style of drawings. This is a very cute story about not being afraid of change.

Mr. Flux has a great message for kids. It teaches that sometimes change is a good thing. I love the pictures I can see, as well as the comparison to the Foster’s Home for Imaginary Friends. I watched that with my Grandchildren when they were with me. It was a great learning time as we would discuss what happened on the show. The review was really informative. It gave me a lot of information on the book. Mr. Flux is definitely a book I would read to my Grandchildren.
This book surely has the type of illustration to capture a child’s imagination and attention! I think a lot of kids ARE afraid of change and I don’t think I have seen that addressed in such a cute way!
