Searching for the right organic latex mattress topper is cumbersome! I’ve put off looking for one for about two years now. Firm, Soft, Organic/Natural, Hybrid, Latex, and thick/thin are all options that you have!
A mattress topper is an extra layer that lays flat on top of your mattress to help with the softness of the bed. The toppers come in all sizes, from California king to a twin. (They even make them for camper beds.) The toppers are usually between 1 to 3 inches thick, depending on what you are looking for. They also have a few different kinds of toppers – higher-density latex toppers are more durable than lower-density toppers, and natural latex is more durable than synthetic latex. Toppers come in many materials and are very durable, so you should research to ensure you are getting what you pay for. Some even have temperature control, so if you sleep hot, it keeps you cool!

Turmerry Organic Latex Mattress Topper
I decided on the 100% organic latex mattress topper made by Turmerry in a Twin size, 38’X75”. I had a great experience with service and delivery. We originally ordered a 3” soft topper but had to move to a 2” medium topper because they were out of the 3”. I did not mind switching as I did not know how soft the “soft” would be. I also know I could send it back if I did not care for it. With that being said, I should forewarn you: when you get the topper, it is wrapped and air-sealed, so I do not know how I would have fit it back in a box!
The Organic Latex Mattress Toppers come in four firmness levels.
- The Soft Latex Mattress Topper is ideal for side sleepers and individuals who weigh less than 130 lbs. A soft latex mattress topper is a great pick to soften your mattress.
- The Medium Latex Mattress Topper is great for back sleepers and individuals who weigh between 130 and 230 lbs. It is a fantastic choice if you want to strike a balance between soft and firm. It can also be a great option for people who weigh less than 130 lb.
- The Firm Latex Mattress Topper is perfect for stomach sleepers and individuals who weigh more than 230 lbs. If you want to stiffen up a very soft mattress, a firm latex mattress topper is the way to go. This can also be a great option for people who weigh less than 230 lb.
- The Extra Firm Latex Mattress Topper is great for heavier people who like back/stomach sleeping. The extra support can help alleviate pressure points in certain cases.
When I opened the box, the topper was in a saran-type bag. When I cut that open, there was no odor; it just filled with air and snapped right into the twin shape for the bed. That was exciting to watch!
So far, I have had a wonderful experience. My bed went from VERY hard to medium-hard. I must admit, I thought it would be softer, but now, in retrospect, I am glad it is not. My current bed hurts my hips, and I think that was because it was too hard. If I had something softer, it would hurt my lower back. The organic latex toppers feature 7-zone technology, where each ‘zone’ provides optimal support for pressure points – with firm support to the head and feet, medium-firm strength to the upper back, lower back, and hip, and soft comfort to the shoulder and thigh. The 3″ and 4″ organic toppers offer the best comfort in pressure relief.
I also like to put a protective cover over my mattress to ensure everything is clean. This topper has a zippered organic cotton cover that you can remove and wash. I tried to take it off of the mattress and did not have any problems. The zipper is far enough on the side that it came out easily.
I feel like I got a bonus because the topper has helped my sheet situation without knowing it. My sheets were made for deep mattresses, and I have been struggling to keep them tight so they don’t scrunch up and end up enclosing my body in more fabric. That always makes me feel hot! Also, the fitted sheet always falls off the bed since it slides around. Now that I have added the organic latex mattress topper, the sheet stretches nicely over the bed. No more pooling in the middle of the bed. It also does not shift or slide around when I get in and out of bed since the sheets tuck under the bed as they should.
Another thing I noticed is that the topper has uniformly perforated holes that help with ventilation, and that, too, has kept me from getting hot. Latex doesn’t retain heat due to its open cell structure, so you sleep cool throughout the night! In the four weeks since I have had the topper, I have never had to adjust it and line it back up with the mattress underneath.
I should note that the organic latex mattress topper is also Hypoallergenic—natural latex is hypoallergenic—so it is a safe choice for people with allergies. Many mattress toppers are treated with chemicals to make them fire-resistant or waterproof. So, looking for natural mattress toppers made from latex or wool is always best. These materials are naturally resistant to dust mites and other allergens, making them a great choice for allergy sufferers.
If you want a topper, I recommend Turmerry organic latex mattress topper. However, go to their website and ensure you get the right one for your needs. The site will guide you in choosing the right mattress pad for your needs, catering to side sleepers, back sleepers, and stomach sleepers. It also comes with several more great reviews.

That’s a nice topper. Thicker than most I’ve seen, which is nice. I also like that it doesn’t have an odor.
