Traveling with kids, well…can be a pain. I have three boys so I can speak from experience! Here are a few products for both parents and kids to enjoy on that long road trip or for anytime really!

Perky Jerky

Perky Jerky

Perky Jerky is a high-protein and invigorating snack sweetened with guarana that is free of nitrites, preservatives, and MSG. This modern-day jerky is ideal for anyone who wants to keep to their diets away from home. Flavors include Original, Sweet & Spicy, Teriyaki, and Hot & Bothered, which are available in both beef and turkey. Perky Jerky fits in perfectly with popular diets include paleo, gluten-free, Atkins, low-carb and more. All flavors are low fat or fat-free.

My eleven-year-old loves jerky. He eats a few pieces before his football practices so he at least has something in his belly while practicing. I was glad I took a picture of this as soon as I received it because this was gone in a flash!

Price: MSRP $2.99-$4.99

Pom Juice

Pom Juice

POM Wonderful’s 100% Juice Blends come in three varieties: POM Hula, POM Mango, and POM Coconut. POM Hula is a tropical whirlwind of flavor with 100% POM, pineapple, and apple juices; POM Mango blends 100% POM and mango juice and works perfectly for mixed drinks, and POM Coconut helps you fuel your workout and stay hydrated by combining the benefits of 100% POM with coconut water. These 100% Juice Blends come in single-serve 12oz bottles that are perfect for throwing in a bag and sipping on during long road trips. Also available is the family-friendly 48oz sizes.

I couldn’t believe it but my six-year-old loved these the most especially since they have a strong flavor. Since these contain 100% juice and pomegranates are known for their rich antioxidant’s, this is one drink I do not mind him having!

Price: MSRP $3.20

Saffron Road Chickpeas

Saffron Road

Saffron Road just introduced two new flavors to their line of Crunchy Chickpeas, Korean BBQ, and Chipotle. The low-fat, protein-rich snacks are made with organic chickpeas and are Non-GMO Project Verified. The Crunchy Chickpeas snacks are inspired by the world’s greatest cuisines and pack a massive amount of flavor within each bite.

  • Korean BBQ: The Korean BBQ Crunchy Chickpeas contain the perfect combination of sweet and spicy flavoring. The organic chickpeas combine with a Korean bulgogi marinade, which consists of soy sauce, pear juice, sesame oil, garlic and red pepper, to create a powerful taste.
  • ChipotleChipotles are made with patience by smoking-dry jalapeño peppers.  Saffron Road’s Chipotle Crunchy Chickpeas deliver a kick of Mexican heat with each bite providing consumers with the perfect guilt-free snacking solution packed with flavor.

I didn’t think I would like these let alone my kids but I was wrong. Both are flavors that we would not normally have but we liked the BBQ over the spicy chipotle. These come in a resealable bag so you can just toss them in the car.

Price: MSRP $5.19

Rudolph’s Pork Rinds

Rudolph's Pok Rinds

The name says it all, “Nobody Makes Better Tasting Pork Rinds”. Rudolph’s has evolved over time from a store brand found only in Wal-Mart to an exciting line up that includes Chicharinas, Churros, and Onyums. I received a few bags of Rudolph’s Original Pork Rinds and Bold & Spicy BBQ flavor pork rinds. My husband is the only family member that likes pork rinds so I don’t buy them very often. He has never had BBQ flavored pork rinds and these he said had a little kick to them. Pork rinds are high in protein, low in cholesterol and have zero carbs – perfect for those low carb diets.

Price: MSRP $3.60

Road-trippers are always looking for something to munch on and Way Better Snacks won’t leave you feeling sick. By being the first of its kind to incorporate sprouted ingredients like flaxseed, chia seeds, quinoa, black beans, broccoli seeds and daikon radish seeds, Way Better Snacks truly has built a way better, simply sprouted tortilla chip! Sprouting delivers many benefits including: increased vitamins and minerals; increased antioxidants; increased digestibility; and increased nutrition absorption.

He didn’t even ask what the seeds were! There are my new go to tortilla chip!

SunRidge Farms
SunRidge FarmsBanana ChipsSunRidge Farms Super Deluxe Mix

SunRidge Farms has a variety of organic and natural snack foods that are great for lunches or on the go snacks. There are a variety of kid-friendly snacks and trail mixes, dried fruits, nuts & seeds. I received a few packages of the Organic Banana Chips and Organic Hit the Trail Mix with roasted tamari almonds, sunflower seeds, cashews, raisins, peanuts and pumpkin seeds. The Super Deluxe Mix  has a mix of tamari seasoned nuts and seeds and dried fruits, including tropical coconut and California raisins.

My youngest loved the banana chips which was surprising since he won’t touch a banana! The mangos were huge but were a little tougher for him to chew. Their certified organic and natural cranberries, apricots, mango, pineapple, papaya, crystallized ginger, raisins, and more offer a natural sweetness. And, SunRidge Farms’ tropical fruits are guaranteed to have no added sulfites, and do not contain hydrogenated oils, artificial flavors, colors, or preservatives.
