Nutrisystem Blogger! Week 11 – #NSNation

Nutrisystem is based on the proven science of the Glycemic Index, and eating low-GI meals 5 to 6 times a day helps keep your blood sugar and metabolism stable, so your body burns calories more effectively. Some low GI foods include: apple and orange juice, multi and whole grain bread, low fat yogurt, milk, bannans, grapes, apples, peanuts, Chocolate bar, asparagus, broccoli, cauliflower and celery just to name a few.


I am noticing that my clothes fit better. Some of my shorts are too big now. And of course, now that I need some new sizes in summer clothes, stores are getting ready for fall! I am also starting to transition into eating “regular” meals along with my Nutrisystem meals. It is hard though. But I don’t look at it as depriving myself from something but knowing how many calories are in a meal that I want to eat. For example, we went to Izzy’s for lunch. I ordered a corned beef sandwich with cheese and a potato pancake. I knew that the potato pancake was going to be jacked with calories and I should of only had half but I didn’t. The sandwich had corned beef, cheese on wheat bread and came in at 443 calories. The potato pancake was 454! I didn’t have breakfast that morning either and that played into my decision as well. First, I rationed that I was able to use my breakfast calories for lunch which are around 300 and second because I was so hungry I ate more than I should of. Which in the long run shot my caloric intake the rest of the day. So, if I would of only had half of the sandwich and half of the potato pancake, I could of cut my calories by almost 450 and I still would of been under my daily calorie count. I love keeping the list of what I eat on the Nutrisystem App. I think actually seeing those numbers, at least for me is a big motivator!
