With flipflop wines, we have embraced the movement toward individualistic expression, instead of manufacturing wines into some cookie-cutter style that’s all the rage. Our goal is to craft expressive, well-balanced wines that evoke just what the grapes inside intended, without being over-wrought or over-explained, and that can be enjoyed at any occasion.
For my husband and I, there are two kinds of wines, wines we like and wines we don’t! I am in no way a wine connoisseur but when I taste a wine that I like regardless of the price, I usually stick with it. flipflop wines only cost $7 a bottle which is very affordable for that next party you will be throwing! I was sent 3 bottles of flipflop wines to review, 2 white wines: Riesling & Pinot Grigio and a red: Pinot Noir. I enjoy white wines while my husband enjoys reds. All of them were very good but like David Georges(vintner for flipflop wines) says, “to each, their own”.
My favorite was the Riesling. It had a very sweet taste and was great chilled. It offered a hint of peach, apricot, and melon. Flip Flop Wines offers 7 different varieties of wines. But each has their “own” color label, which makes it nice and easy when I pick up a case, um I mean bottle! My bottle is yellow.
My husbands favorite was the red Pinot Noir (Purple Bottle) this one is a dry wine with a taste of cherry and spice. I never thought of pairing it with chocolate chip cookies. But that is one of the suggestions.
The third bottle was the Pinot Grigio. This one was not as sweet as the Riesling, it offers a tropical citrus, ripe pear and a zesty taste with a clean finish. This is a green bottle in case you were wondering.
flipflop wines have partnered with Soles4Souls. For every bottle of flipflop wine purchased, Soles4Souls will distribute a pair of shoes to someone in need! How awesome is that!
