Every year, approximately 250,000 women are diagnosed with breast cancer – it’s the most common cancer and the leading cause of cancer death among Hispanic and Latina women. My mom is a Breast Cancer survivor, going on almost 16 years now! I love when I can find companies that truly give back. Since this subject hits home for me, I like to call out companies that offer support to those struggling and ones that give back to the community through various funds. That is why I have a dedicated Breast Cancer Awareness Page to highlight those companies. If you know of a company that should be featured, please contact me directly.

The Silver Lining Companion Guide: A Supportive and Insightful Guide to Breast Cancer

Allstate has partnered with Hollye Jacobs, New York Times bestselling author of “The Silver Lining,” to help women diagnosed with breast cancer as well as their friends and families. Empowering women to take control of their health and happiness, Allstate and Jacobs are on a mission to connect women nationwide by providing a free silver lining companion guide to everyone impacted by breast cancer.

The companion guide (available in English and Spanish) is a condensed version of Jacob’s New York Times bestselling book “The Silver Lining: A Supportive and Insightful Guide to Breast Cancer,” and includes practical tips, important information and inspiration for those undergoing breast cancer.

Hollye was a vegan-eating, marathon-running, 39-year-old mom and registered nurse when she was diagnosed. Today, the cancer survivor wants people to be prepared with early detection and the tools they need to find their silver linings!

One must be positive in this fight. There is always hope as one battles with the disease. Friends and family with the medical team are our friends and support.

My aunt was just recently diagnosed with breast cancer, and it’s still a big shock to us. We’re trying our best to be there for her.

Several people that have touched my life over the years have been diagnosed with cancer. The one thing that I have learned by example is to maintain a positive outlook and focus on your blessings.

Too many loved ones are battling or have fought BC, including a very important family member.

Yes I do know someone who has battled breast cancer, my mom had it in the early stages and recovered. My aunt also had it, but passed last year, it wasn’t caught early enough and it spread. Very important to get annual exams and to always do it at home by checking yourself. We need a cure!

My best friend found out in late May she has breast cancer. She just had a double mastecomey a few weeks ago and will begin chemo shortly.

Yes, my Mother battled breast cancer for 10 years before passing in 1994. She was 48 years old. Also, my best friend is a survivor who has passed the all important five year mark. Thank-you for this wonderful chance. 🙂

I was diagnosed with breast cancer a year ago. I do not like to use the word, “battle”. It was a wake up call for me. I am healing & getting back in touch with myself.
