Gulliver's Travels 2010

SUMMARY: A hilarious zero-to-hero story about a larger-than-life Average Joe! Jack Black (Kung Fu Panda, School of Rock) brings his irreverent humor to this adventure-comedy based on the classic tale. To impress the pretty newspaper travel editor Darcy (Amanda Peet), an underachieving mailroom clerk named Gulliver (Black) takes a writing assignment traveling to Bermuda. When a shipwreck lands him on the fantastical island of Lilliput, he transforms into a giant — in size and ego! Gulliver’s tall tales and heroic deeds win the hearts of the tiny Lilliputians, but when he loses it all and puts his newfound friends in peril, Gulliver must find a way to undo the damage. Through it all, Gulliver may just learn that it’s how big you are on the inside that counts.

I was able to receive a copy of Gulliver’s Travels. My sons already saw it in the theaters with their grandparents. They said it was “so funny” when they came home. So when they saw that I received an advance screening they were excited. “We have to watch it right away mom, you need to see it!” So we watched it and they thought it was just as funny as the first time. If you don’t know Jack Black, he has more of the slapstick silly humor which my kids like to watch. Even though it is rated PG, they could have done without the word lame-ass in the movie. If you want a silly movie then this fits the bill.
